Lessee of Balumahal on the Gomai River in Sadar Upazila, held an emergency press conference at Sidhli Royalty Office on Monday (August 4) at 10 pm against a group of criminals who are illegally extracting sand from Balumahal.

At that time, Arif Khan told reporters that he had leased the sand palace of the Gomai River until 30th Chaitra of the Bengali year 1432 B.E. as per government rules. While extracting sand from here, he is facing various obstacles from a malicious group. Those who mainly extract sand illegally are creating various obstacles in extracting sand from his legal sand palace. He also said that he is also a victim of cyber bullying through intentional information leakage fueled by a group. As a result, his legally leased sand palace is being financially damaged, and he is even suffering business losses.

He also said that he has recently filed a written complaint with the government offices against those who illegally extract sand in this area. Even then, illegal sand extraction in this area has not stopped. In this situation, he has sought the cooperation of everyone, including the administration, through journalists, to properly carry out the activities of his legally leased sand farm.
