Green Force exchange of views to build a corruption-free Bangladesh in Shariatpur

A discussion meeting titled “What to do to build a corruption-free Bangladesh” was held on Saturday (August 2) afternoon at Chikandi Food Park in Dubai Plaza, Shariatpur Sadar Upazila. Green Force Bangladesh Shariatpur District Branch organized this meeting with the aim of increasing social awareness against corruption. Md. Sayedul Bashar, Executive Director, Disha. The meeting was chaired by Mikail Rahman, Chairman of the organization, as the chief guest. Special guest Dr. S. M. Haque, National Coordinator, Green Force Bangladesh. Nazmul Huda Dipu, Director, BDT Sarwar Hossain Sabuj. Also present were Md. Abdul Karim, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Z. H. Sikder University of Science and Technology. Senior Journalist Swapan Sarkar, Advocate Mizanur Rahman, etc. Green Force Chairman Mikail Rahman, the chief guest of the meeting, said that Green Force Bangladesh wants a transparent, accountable and just state system. Corrupt people must be socially boycotted and no concessions can be made in law enforcement. Public participation must be ensured in every activity of the state run with public money. He also said that corruption is the main obstacle to development in Bangladesh. Bribery, nepotism and abuse of power are taking away the rights of the common people. Without defeating this enemy, it is not possible to ensure economic freedom and social justice. At the time, speakers said that the cancer of corruption has now spread to every level of society. Road construction, education, health, land offices and even the judicial system are no exception. It has become difficult to get fair services without bribery. A united mass movement, regardless of party or opinion, is needed to change this situation. At the meeting, several actions were highlighted by Green Force Bangladesh. The speakers also said that the struggle to build a corruption-free Bangladesh is a long journey. However, with the united participation and awareness of the people, even this impossible can be made possible. People from different walks of life in Shariatpur participated in the meeting and pledged to play an active role in the anti-corruption movement. And say ‘no’ to corruption — let’s build a transparent, prosperous, and humane Bangladesh.
