National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said, In 2024, the student population ousted the fascist Hasina government from power through a historic mass uprising.
The hopes and aspirations of the student population to overthrow the dictatorship have not been realized even today.
The student population of this country will not accept that attempts to run Bangladesh in the old way continue even after the uprising.
He said, a welfare state must be built by immediately carrying out reforms, prosecuting genocide, and promulgating a new constitution.
All human rights must be ensured in the new constitution.
The genocide and all misdeeds of the fascist government must be prosecuted.
Nahid Islam also said, we have overthrown fascism through the July mass uprising.
Now we want to work to establish a new Bangladesh through democratic and systematic reforms.
That is why we are going to the people, listening to them.

In the meeting, he called on everyone to gather at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on August 3 to confirm the July Charter and Declaration for justice, reform and the formation of a new Bangladesh.

He said these things at a roadshow organized by Netrokona District NCP as part of the country-building march in the open courtyard of the local old Collectorate building on Sunday afternoon.

In the meeting, NCP Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwary said, domestic and foreign conspiracies are going on about the country’s independence and sovereignty. We will not tolerate any conspiracy about the country’s independence and sovereignty as long as we have a single drop of blood in our body and demanded an immediate end to border killings.

The northern region chief coordinator Sarjis Alam, senior joint member secretary Dr. Tasnim Zara, central organizer Pritam Sohag, central committee members Fahim Rahman Khan Pathan and Ruhul Amin Aini spoke at the march meeting.
Southern region chief coordinator Hasnat Abdullah, senior joint convener Samantha Sharmin, joint conveners Ariful Islam Adib, Ehtesamul Haque, Monira Sharmin, joint convener Arpita Shyama Dev, national youth power central member secretary Dr. Jahedul Islam, democratic student union convener Abu Baker Majumder, youth power joint convener Maruf Al Hamid, central organizer Zakaria Emon were present on the stage at that time etc.
