The notorious drug dealer Mohammad Zia Sikder (1) was finally arrested in a joint force operation in Mirzagonj upazila of Patuakhali district. He is the son of the deceased Akheem Mridha of Ranipur village of Deuly Subidkhaly union. A special team of the army and the police of Mirzagonj police station jointly conducted the operation from the Mirzagonj Army camp on Wednesday (July 23) at 9:30 pm. At that time, Ranipur (East Deuli Chowrasta) of Deuly Subidakhaly Union conducted a search around Zia Sikder’s shop in the bus stand market.

From the shop, 3 grams of marijuana, 2 kuta dry marijuana, 3 marijuana sticks, 3 diyasalai, 3 syringes, 3 knives, 3 scissors and 3 mobile phones were recovered.

Locals said Zia had an important role in spreading drugs in the area for a long time. The locals expressed some relief in his arrest.

According to police sources, Zia has been involved in the drug trade in the area for a long time. Although there were multiple allegations against him, he was caught in the hands of the joint forces.

Officer -in -charge of Mirzagonj Police Station (OC) Mr. Nazrul Islam said Zia Sikder is a professional drug dealer. Legal action is being taken against him and the investigation is underway.
