An environmental awareness essay competition was held in Shyamnagar, Satkhira. The essay competition was held at Jabeda Sohrab Model Academy in Shyamnagar Upazila Sadar on Tuesday (July 15) at 12 noon as part of neighborhood education, organized by the non-governmental voluntary organization CDO and in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy, Dhaka. The event was presided over by the school’s headmaster Md. Abdus Sattar. An essay competition titled “Environmental Conservation: Government’s Responsibility and What We Can Do” was held. 30 students participated in the event implemented by CNRS. 10th grade student Chabbir Hasan Rakib won the 1st place in the essay competition, 8th grade student Shadia Afrin won the 2nd place, and 9th grade student Rikta Akhter Munni won the 3rd place. Fruit trees were given as gifts to the winners and participants of the essay competition. CDO Youth Team Senior Volunteer Hafizur Rahman, CDO Field Organizer Shampa Biswas, Rubina Khatun, and school students were present at the time.
