Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman inaugurated the foundation stone of the Gopalganj district memorial monument construction work in memory of the students and public martyrs in the July mass uprising in Gopalganj. He inaugurated the foundation stone construction work on Monday (July 14) afternoon, opposite the Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Model Mosque and in front of the Sheikh Kamal Cricket Stadium, with prayers and supplications, as planned by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and implemented by the Ministry of National Housing and Public Works. After the foundation stone inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman expressed his firm determination to take the new Bangladesh, achieved through the sacrifices of the students and the people martyred in the July Uprising, forward with the enthusiasm of youth. He also highlighted the month-long programs being implemented in Gopalganj, like the rest of the country, and sought everyone’s full cooperation in implementing them. Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman told the media that members of the law enforcement agencies will be engaged in overall security to maintain the foundation stone of the memorial monument construction work in Gopalganj district in memory of the students and public martyrs of the July mass uprising. Monirul Islam, District Commandant (BVMS) Mojibul Haque, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Executive Officer M. Rakibul Hasan, Kashiani Upazila Executive Officer (retd) Munmun Pal, Deputy Director of Women Affairs Department (retd) Lakhsana Lucky, Deputy Director of District Social Services Office Md. Zubayer Hossain, close relatives of the students and people martyred and injured in the July mass uprising, along with media workers working in various electronic and print media in the district were present.
