Maulana Abdul Hamid stands by the family of deceased Gautam

Maulana Abdul Hamid, the Jamaat-nominated MP candidate for Gopalganj-1 constituency of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has stood by the family of Gautam Gain (35), a night watchman at JKMB Mallick High School in Jolirpar, Muksudpur Upazila, Gopalganj, who was killed in an attack by miscreants. On Sunday (July 13) morning, along with hundreds of leaders and activists, he went to the house of the deceased Gautam Gain and met his family, comforting and expressing sympathy to the bereaved family. He has assured his wife Mili Bairagi, daughter Sagat Gain, and son Anant Gain that he will provide all legal assistance. At that time, he said, “May no one else in the country lose their father like this. If Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami comes to power, such brutal murders will not happen again in Bangladesh, God willing. We will stand by Gautam Gain’s family and provide all kinds of legal assistance.” Maulana Abdul Hamid told the journalists present, “You should also investigate alongside the police, expose the real criminals and spread the news to the media.” Present at the event were Al-Masud Khan, Secretary of the Gopalganj District Branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Fakir Miraj Ali Sheikh, President of the Jamaat-e-Islami Jalirpar Union Branch, Zahidur Rahman, President of the Nanikshir Union Branch, Russell Sheikh, and more than a hundred leaders of the Jamaat-e-Islami at the district, upazila and union levels. Gautam Gain went missing at approximately 9:30 pm on Wednesday (July 9) while on duty at work. His body was recovered from the Madaripur-Gopalganj Beel Root Canal (river) at approximately 1 pm on Friday by the Baultali Police Investigation Center in Gopalganj Sadar.
