The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) warmly welcomed its newly admitted students of Spring 2025 through an orientation program held on Saturday, 12 July 2025, at the UAP Plaza. The event aimed to introduce students to the university’s academic environment, values, and support services.
Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson, Board of Trustees (BoT), and Ms. Tashmeem Shayera Moyeen, Senior Vice Chairperson, BoT, attended as Chief Guests in two separate sessions. Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of UAP, presided over the program.
Architect Mahbuba Haque urged students to explore their potential with dedication, stating, “University is where you discover yourself and your purpose.” Ms. Tashmeem Shayera Moyeen emphasized the importance of discipline and empathy, encouraging students to become responsible global citizens.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan welcomed the new students, saying, “UAP will support you with quality education and a student-centric experience.”
Special guests included Professor Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, who highlighted the value of lifelong learning, and Mr. Kamran Bakr, who inspired students to pursue their dreams with integrity.
Other speakers included Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Prof. Dr. Abu Sayeed Moshtaque Ahmed, Prof. Dr. G. R. Ahmed Jamal, Prof. Dr. M. A. Baqui Khalily, Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha, and Dr. A.S.M. Mohsin.
Registrar Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Prof. Dr. AKM Nazrul Islam delivered the welcome speech. Four UAP alumni shared their success stories, and the program concluded with an interactive session with the parents and guardians of the freshers.
The event was attended by Dr. M. Alauddin, Member, BOT; Alhaj Abdul Malek Mollah, Member, BOT; faculty members, administrative staff, students, and guardians- marking a memorable beginning to the Spring 2025 semester at UAP.
