Inaugural meeting of prospective project to strengthen community resilience in Ramu

PROTTYASHI, with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP), successfully organized a Project Inception Meeting on 19 May 2025 at the Himchari Conference Room in Ramu to formally launch Activity 4: Capacity Strengthening and Building the Resilience of the Local Community. The initiative is designed to enhance the resilience of vulnerable communities through strategic engagement, capacity development, and collaboration with government institutions. The meeting was officially inaugurated by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Ramu Mohammed Rashedul Islam.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including government officials such as the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculture Extension Officer, Upazila Fisheries Officer, Upazila Livestock Officer, Upazila Women Affairs Officer, Upazila Youth Officer, Upazila Cooperative Officer, Union Parishad Chairmen, representatives from various NGOs, and project staff.
The program commenced with participant registration at 9:30 AM, followed by a welcome speech from the Project Coordinator, which set a collaborative tone for the sessions that followed.
Participants were briefed on the project’s goals, the role of PROTTYASHI, and the significance of WFP’s resilience building program in Ramu. The Project Coordinator outlined the broader objectives and expected outcomes of Activity-4. A dedicated session also highlighted the WFP Resilience Activity in Cox’s Bazar, emphasizing WFP’s long-term commitment to promoting sustainable development in the region.
The Upazila Livestock Officer delivered the closing remarks, commending the initiative and calling for continued cooperation among all stakeholders to ensure its success. The event concluded with a lunch for all attendees.
This inception meeting marks the official beginning of a coordinated effort to strengthen local resilience and build sustainable community capacity in Ramu, paving the way for impactful interventions under the WFP-funded initiative.
