PCCP protest march demanding ban on UPDF, the armed hill organization involved in a conspiracy to divide the Chittagong Hill Tracts

A protest march and grand rally were held on Monday (May 12) at the initiative of the Rangamati district branch of the Parbatya Chittagong Chhatra Parishad (PCCP) to protest against the conspiracy to separate the “proposition of autonomous regions for three hill districts” submitted to the National Consensus Commission by the armed terrorist organization of the hills, the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF), and to demand the banning of the UPDF.
At the grand rally held under the chairmanship of PCCP Rangamati District Branch President Md. Alamgir Hossain and moderated by Deputy General Secretary Monir Hossain, PCNP Central Chairman Kazi Mujibur Rahman spoke as the chief guest.
PCCP Central Organizing Secretary Russell Mahmud spoke as the main speaker, PCNP’s Rangamati Organizing Secretary Abu Bakkar Siddique and PCCP Rangamati District Branch General Secretary Khalilur Rahman spoke as special guests. PCCP Publicity Secretary Ismail Gazi and Longadu Upazila Branch President Md. Sumon spoke at the grand rally, among others.
In his speech as the chief guest at the grand rally, Mujibur Rahman said that a deep conspiracy is underway to form a separate state in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Here, Israel’s Mossad, India’s RAW, and America’s CIA are working in parallel.
They are engrossed in the dream of a Christian state. The Chittagong Hill Tracts are not anyone’s ancestral property. Yet the hill tribes are ruling the three hill districts.
The Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board, three Hill District Councils, three circles, and the Internally Displaced Persons Task Force are under the control of the hill people.
It can be said that there is no opportunity for Bengali leadership. In a word, the hill people are ruling the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Yet they say that the army is ruling! The smell of corpses can be found in the mountains and lakes, the smell of gunpowder can be found. Army camps must be re-established. Police camps must be established in every neighborhood.
Mujibur Rahman also warned that the armed terrorist organization UPDF must be banned immediately to protect the integrity of the country and the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
The illegal arms holders of the UPDF must also be brought under the law. If the terrorist organization is not banned, the entire Chittagong Hill Tracts, including the peace-loving people of the three hill districts, will be paralyzed.
Speakers at the PCCP’s grand gathering said that the Chittagong Hill Tracts, which occupy one-tenth of the country’s land area, are more vulnerable than ever before in the current political situation, as the districts of Rangamati, Khagrachari and Bandarban are in a deep crisis.
The situation has become more worrying after the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) held talks with the ‘National Consensus Commission’ led by Ali Riaz on May 10. Is this commission really working to establish the rights of the people, or is it challenging the security and peace of the country by giving political legitimacy to terrorists and making them part of the democratic process? The armed terrorists of the UPDF are establishing a reign of terror in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, including murder, disappearances, kidnappings, and extortion.
That party is now being tried to be legitimized as a political party. There is an ongoing case against one of the party’s leaders, Michael Chakma, on charges of multiple murders, kidnapping, extortion and terrorist activities. But when you talk about a terrorist democratic regime, questions arise.
Michael Chakma, who is in hiding, is trying to punish the post-August 5 revolutionary leader and is making various unjust demands to implement an immoral and anti-national conspiracy.
The leaders of the PCCP presented five demands to the government from the grand rally – 1| Ban all organizational activities of hill separatist armed organizations and allied organizations including UPDF, JSS and KNF, 2| Immediate arrest of all godfathers of hill terrorists including traitors Sant Larma, Prasit Khisa, Michael Chakma, real Ranjan Chakma, Barrister Debashish Roy, Yen Yen, 3| Removal of hill separatist associates including Dr. Iftekhar from the Consensus Commission, 4| Establishment of new BGB BOPs to stop illegal infiltration, arms and drug smuggling through the border, strengthening border security and 5| Initiatives should be taken to build a non-discriminatory Chittagong Hill Tracts by repealing the 1900 Administrative Code to maintain hill-Bengali harmony.
Before the grand rally, thousands of Bengalis from different areas of Rangamati district gathered at the local municipal premises at 11 am on Monday (May 12). From there, they marched through the main roads of the city in a protest procession and then reached the CNG station in Banarupa, which turned into a grand rally.
