Latiful Azam, Kishoreganj (Nilphamari)

A human chain was held in Baravita Union of Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari district demanding establishment of 1000-bed China-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital.

On Sunday (April 20) afternoon, in front of Kishoreganj Press Club, the hour-long human chain organized by the Chinese Hospital Implementation Demand Committee was held. Former Kishoreganj Government College Principal Abdur Rouf, Baravita UP Chairman Alhaj Fazlar Rahman, Kishoreganj UP Chairman Hossain Shahid Suhrawardy Grenat Babu, Chairman Sujauddaula Lipton, Press Club President Abu Hasan Sheikh, Headmaster Ali Akbor, Retired Teacher Akramuzzaman Tito, Social Worker Hossain Md. Selim Reza, among others, spoke at the time. People from all walks of life, including students, participated in the human chain.

The speakers in the human chain claimed that the hospital is supposed to be established near the Teesta project area. Therefore, we, as the people of the area adjacent to Teesta, would consider the Danga of Baravita Totuar in Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari as a convenient place to establish the hospital. Therefore, we are demanding that the government establish the hospital at this location.
