The 25th founding anniversary of Ekushey Television was celebrated with colorful events in Narayanganj.

The organization’s birthday was celebrated by cutting a cake at the Cinnamon Restaurant in the city’s Press Club building on Monday (April 14) afternoon.

Present at the event were Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, convener of Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP, Advocate Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, member secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami’s central working council member and former Amir of Narayanganj Metropolitan Maulana Moin Uddin Ahmed, joint member secretary of Jatiya Nagorik Party Abdullah Al Amin, Hefazat leader Maulana Ferdawsur Rahman, Narayanganj district coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement Tariqul Sujan, and Narayanganj convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Nirob Raihan.

Also present at the event were Narayanganj Press Club Acting President Billal Hossain Robin, Journalists Union Secretary Ahsan Sadiq Shawon, Asian TV staff reporter Rashedul Islam, Kargil Khan and other journalists and politicians from various levels.

In his guest speech, Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP convener Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan said, “I congratulate Ekushey Television. Journalists are the mirror of this society.”

Maulana Moin Uddin Ahmed, a member of the Central Working Council of Jamaat-e-Islami and former Amir of Narayanganj Metropolitan City, said that a godfather in Narayanganj had four caliphs.

Three of them met with a brutal fate. Another caliph, BP Badal, is still alive. This caliph should be tried.
