Tinni Akter, a student of the 17th batch of the Department of Law at Comilla University (CoU), has passed away due to blood infection and lung-related complications.
She breathed her last at approximately 7:00 PM on Monday (April 14) at a private hospital in the capital.
According to Tinni’s family sources, she had been suffering from fever for the past four months. Upon consulting doctors, she was informed about a heart-related complication at that time. However, her condition suddenly deteriorated around 7:00 AM today, and she was admitted to a hospital in Mohakhali. Doctors stated that her lungs were severely damaged. Although she was immediately transferred to the ICU, she passed away in the evening.
Easin Pathan Saikat, a student of the 16th batch of the Law Department, said, “Earlier, Tinni fell ill once during exams. She was immediately taken to the hospital as well. However, her condition was not known to be this serious at that time. Today, her younger brother informed me in the afternoon that blood was urgently needed for Tinni. Then, in the evening, we received the news that Tinni had passed away.”
Contacting Tinni’s family, her cousin Afzal Hossain said, “When Tinni fell ill, we sought local treatment, traditional medicine, and also received treatment from a hospital in Narsingdi Sadar. When her condition worsened today, she was admitted to the ‘ICU’ of a hospital in the capital. She took her last breath there.”
The Head of the Department of Law, Ali Morshad Kazem, stated, “The department was not formally informed about her illness. Therefore, we were unaware of it until now. However, we are deeply saddened and shocked by this heartbreaking news. We pray for the departed soul and extend our deepest condolences to her bereaved family, friends, and classmates.”
