A group of 10/12 terrorists led by Sala Uddin (28), son of Faridul Alam of local Dumkhali area, attacked Jalal Co. Reichmill in Malumghat station of Chakaria.

The armed miscreants seriously injured journalist Shah Alam, Chakaria Upazila correspondent of the Daily Tritiya Matra and Chakaria-Lama correspondent of the English daily The Morning Glory, by beating him with a hammer while he was recording a video of the looting.

The group of miscreants snatched journalist Shah Alam’s mobile phone, a camera and cash. The incident took place at around 5:30 pm on Friday.

The injured journalist has been rescued and admitted to Chakaria Government Hospital.

A relative of the journalist said that he will file a case with the police station after the hospital authorities release him.
