A preparatory meeting was held in Gopalganj to celebrate the Bengali New Year -1432. The meeting, organized by the Gopalganj District Administration on Sunday (April 6) at 10 am at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room “Swachhta”, was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman.

The chairman of the preparatory meeting, Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Muhammad Kamruzzaman, said that the Bengali New Year is an integral part of the heart of the Bengali nation.

The Bengali nation celebrates the New Year every year with great enthusiasm, preserving the ancient traditions and culture of rural Bengal.

On the occasion of the celebration of Bengali New Year -1432, a 7-day folk fair has been organized by the Gopalganj district administration. This folk fair will be held in front of the Gopalganj Outer Stadium.

A delightful cultural program including folk music will be performed at Gopalganj Central Municipal Park at 6 am on the 1st of Baishakh.

It has been decided that a colorful procession will be taken out at 8 am after the cultural program to celebrate the Bengali New Year-1432 with the spontaneous participation of people from all classes and professions.

In addition, various guidelines have been given to the Gopalganj District Police and other concerned parties to maintain the law and order situation on the occasion of celebrating the Bengali New Year in a fair and peaceful environment.

The preparatory meeting, chaired by Gopalganj Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Golam Kabir, was attended by Gopalganj Local Government Department Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) and Gopalganj Municipal Administrator Bishwajit Kumar Pal, Additional Superintendent of Police (promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police) Kazi Mahbubul Alam, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) SM Tarek Sultan, Gopalganj Zilla Parishad Executive Officer Amit Deb Nath, District Ansar and VDP Commandant (BVMS). Mojibul Haque, Assistant Director of District Narcotics Control Department Mohammad Nabi Newaz, Deputy Assistant Director of District Fire Service and Civil Defense Dr. Abu Sayeed Faruk, Superintendent of Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital Dr. Jibetish Biswas, Executive Engineer of Gopalganj Public Works Department Swarnendu Shekhar Mandal, Executive Director of Gopalganj Roads and Highways Department Engineer. Azharul Islam, Executive Engineer of Gopalganj Public Health Engineering Department. officials of various departments and their representatives were present.
