In order to ensure safe roads in all upazilas of the district including Gopalganj Sadar Upazila, and to collect additional fares from passengers after Eid, not displaying the government-determined fare list according to the distance to the specified destination at the counter, not having a route permit, driving vehicles without fitness, and illegal parking, 5 Upazila Executive Officers and Executive Magistrates of Gopalganj have conducted mobile courts at different places under the Road Transport Act under the direction of the District Commissioner.

On Saturday (April 5), 13 cases were filed under various sections of the Road Transport Act 2018 in different places in the district and a fine of Tk 30,500 was collected.

Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Gopalganj District Administration Ronti Poddar, Vehicle Inspector of Gopalganj BRTA Ziaul Haque Zia, along with bench assistants of the mobile court and officers and members of the law enforcement agencies were present at the time.

Assistant Commissioner Ronti Poddar, who is running the mobile court, said that on the directions of Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (promoted to the post of Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman Sir, mobile courts have been run in different upazilas under various sections of the Road Transport Act 2018 to ensure safe roads in Gopalganj and other upazilas of the district and to ensure that no additional fare is collected from passengers during the post-Eid period.

He also said that such campaigns will continue in the future.
