CMP’s DB (Bandar-West) unraveled the mystery of the clueless murder case, identified the victim and arrested the main accused.

The body of an unidentified woman was recovered on the floor inside the locked room no. 3 of the ground floor of Ali Sawdagar’s building in Wasim Chowdhury Para, Pelagazi, Kalsidigi Par, Bandar Police Station, on March 26 at approximately 7:30 pm.

Immediately after receiving the news of the recovery of the unidentified woman’s body, the DB (Bandar-West) team started a shadow investigation.

Since the owner of the house did not have the information of the tenant and the neighboring tenants could not provide information about the victim, the name and identity of the body could not be immediately identified.

DB team conducted a shadow investigation and found that the victim was a garment worker, but no specific information about the garment company was found.

At one point, the mystery of the murder began to unravel from a mobile number found in a cash memo of a shop near the scene.

Based on intelligence information, it was already known that the suspect had left for Bagerhat from Chittagong. Later, on this basis, the suspect, Ibrahim Howlader (24), a passenger of a Royal Paribahan bus going from Chittagong to Bagerhat, was arrested on the Postogola Bridge in Dhaka.

During the initial interrogation of the accused, he confessed to his involvement in the murder of the victim, Tumpa Akhter (22).

During the interrogation of the arrested accused, the DB police confirmed the victim’s detailed identity.

The victim’s previous family is estimated to have a 4-year-old son named Mahim. The victim had been living in a rented house in Kalsidighi area for the past two years due to his employment at Pacific Jeans Limited CEPZ Chittagong. The victim and the accused had been living as husband and wife in the house at the scene.

As the victim and the accused were living together outside of marriage, there were frequent quarrels and disputes between them.

Due to this, on the night of the incident,
on the night of 26 March at approximately 12.30 am, the accused deliberately strangled the victim to death by twisting a rope around her neck while she was sleeping.

Later, he locked the house from outside and left the victim’s son in front of a neighboring house and escaped. A murder case has already been registered in this regard at the Bandar Police Station of the CMP.
