The officer-in-charge (OC) of Khulshi police station has been released on stand after four people were injured, including two people, in a clash between two BNP groups in Chittagong.

The clash occurred between the followers of BNP leader Shah Alam and Chhatra Dal leader Shariful Islam Tuhin in the Lalkhan Bazar area over hanging banners wishing Eid.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC, North) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Md. Jahangir said that two people were shot during the clash. Two others were injured.

Later, the police went and calmed the situation. Adequate police personnel are deployed at the spot. After this incident, CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz ordered Khulshi police station OC Mujibur Rahman to be released on stand.

It is learned that after the order to release OC Mujibur, Kotwali Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md. Aftab Hossain was posted as the OC of Khulshi Police Station and issued an office order.
