Main boss of smuggling syndicate Azgar arrested in Baklia

A joint force has arrested one of the main bosses of smuggling, Azgar, and two of his associates from the Kalpalok residential area under Baklia police station in Chittagong. The arrested are Md. Azgar (32) and Md. Chhotan Mia Chowdhury (28).
(March 21) A special team of the joint force arrested him on Friday morning at Five Star Alley adjacent to Ranjakhali in Baklia. Later, he was handed over to the police station.
The two arrested are the sons of the deceased Haji Mojaher Mia of Rajakhali Road Chaktai area under Baklia police station.
It is worth noting that for the past 15 years, his own brother Alamgir was an armed cadre of Boxirhat Jubo League No. 35. There are also allegations of public extortion against him by using the party’s influence when the Awami League government was in power. The ACC also has allegations of having illegal assets worth Tk 100 crore against him.
