Keeping in mind the slogan of rights, equality, empowerment and development of women and girls, a rally and discussion meeting was held in Kumarkhali, Kushtia, to celebrate International Women’s Day with due dignity. On this occasion (March 8), on Saturday at 2:00 pm, a colorful rally was organized by the Kumarkhali Upazila Administration, Upazila Women’s Affairs Office and Kumarkhali Municipality. The rally circled the upazila premises and ended at the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office. Later, a discussion meeting was organized in the Upazila Parishad conference room. Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Ferdous Nazneen presided over the program, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Mikhail Islam as the chief guest. The speakers called for more awareness about women’s rights, the progress of women and the incredible success in women’s empowerment.
