Student crowd gave ‘CU Chhatra League leader’ to the police from P2P office
A group of angry students handed over Shamima Seema, the joint general secretary of the defunct committee of the Chattogram University branch of the Chhatra League, to the police. The incident took place in the city’s Golpahar area on Wednesday afternoon.
Officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar Police Station, Jahedul Kabir, said that a group of angry students in the Golpahar area blocked a leader of the university branch of the Chhatra League. Later, after receiving information, the police brought her to the police station. The leader will be produced in court on Thursday in a case of attack on the student-public movement against discrimination.
Shamima Seema is known as a follower of AJM Nasir Uddin, general secretary of the city Awami League. She used to lead the Chhatra League’s women’s group ‘Sangram’ at Chittagong University. She also took a job as a third-class employee at the university during the Awami League. She did not go to work after August 5.
Police sources said that after August 5, he took a job at a private company called Pitupi-Wecon Properties in the Goalpahar area. He was blocked when he left the company this evening.
