Anti-discrimination Student Movement’s torch procession in Joypurhat

A part of Anti-discrimination Student Movement brought out torch procession demanding cancellation of newly formed Joypurhat district committee. The procession started from local Shaheed Dr Abul Kashem Maidan at 7 pm on Thursday (February 27). The procession paraded the main roads of Joypurhat town and ended at zero point of the town. A brief rally was held there. Student representatives of anti-discrimination student movement Borhan Uddin, Ashraful Islam and Rimu Hossain addressed the rally. At that time, students Shakli Islam, Shahni Hossain, Anwar Hossain and others were present. Anti-discrimination student movement’s representative, Borhan Uddin, Ashraful Islam, Shakil Islam, Shaheen Hossain, Rimu Hossain and Anwar Hossain addressed the rally. The speaker said that Chhatra League has been rehabilitated in this committee. Those who were in Chhatra League for the last 16 years, helping in the dummy elections, included in this committee. Student representative Borhan Uddin said we were fighting in the movement and struggle but totally deprived from committee. This is a matter of disappointment. This committee must be cancelled. Earlier, on the night of February 25, the central committee convener of the organization Hasnat Abdullah and member secretary Arif Sohel approved the Joypurhat committee. In protest on the following day (February 26) they formed a human chain under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement.
