Police from Naikhongchhar Police Station have arrested a man named Biksan Mia (34) with a country-made weapon in Naikhongchhar. Naikhongchhar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Masrurul Haque gave this information on Tuesday (February 25) afternoon. He said that on Tuesday, February 25 at around 1:30 am (1:30), Kabir Hossain’s son saw 8-9 people gathered in Kabir Hossain’s tobacco field in Lamar Para, Jaruliachhari area, Ward No. 1, Sonaichhari Union, Naikhongchhar Upazila, to commit criminal activities. He immediately reported the matter to Naikhongchhar Police Station.
A patrol team from the police station immediately reached the scene at 1:30 am based on the news. Then the people of the area were able to stop one of the robbers with weapons and handed him over to the police station along with the weapons. Locals said that when reporter Enamul Haque and his brother Salamat Ullah went to the tobacco field, they saw a group of armed robbers gathered and preparing to rob. When the robbers were shining a flashlight in the faces of reporter Enamul Haque and his brother Salamat Ullah, Enamul Haque asked them to put down the flashlight and turn it off. One of the robbers got excited and pointed a weapon at Enamul Haque. Then, seeing his brother Salamat Ullah armed towards Enamul, Salamat Ullah moved forward skillfully and the two brothers caught one of them with a weapon and treated him well. When the people of the nearby tobacco fields heard the screams, they rushed to the spot with mobile lights and some with flashlights. Then the other robbers ran away in different directions. The tobacco field owner and Kamlara, who guarded the fields at night, were able to arrest one of the robbers with weapons, with the help of the police team. A domestic single-shooter gun and live ammunition were seized from the arrested Biksan Mia. The arrested accused is the son of Solaiman Mia of Neher Solaiman Bari, Ward No. 9 of Panchdona Union, Narsingdi District Headquarters. He is believed to be a discharged member of the military. A case is in the process of being filed against the arrested Biksan Mia at Naikhongchhar Police Station. According to police sources, a loaded live bullet was seized from the seized domestic single-shooter gun. The arrested person has been handed over to Naikhongchhar Police Station for further legal action.
