Two policemen were injured in a stabbing attack by a robber in Chittagong. They were rescued and admitted to CMCH. Two people were arrested in the incident, and local weapons and the robbery money were recovered.

The incident took place on Tuesday (February 25) afternoon at Agrabad Barik Building intersection in Chittagong city.

The injured are SI Ahalad Ibne Jamil & Nozrul of Double Mooring Police Station. The arrested are Tarek and Jewel.

SI Jamil told The Daily morning glory “The robbers hit him in 2 places, which resulted in cuts”, he is now at home after receiving treatment.

Locals said that the police went on a raid to catch the robbers in a tin shed house in an empty area surrounded by a brick wall at Barik Building intersection. The matter came to light after they were stabbed.

According to them, the location of the robbers’ hideout at that place was an ‘open secret’. The Sadarghat, Bandar and Doublemooring police stations were also aware of the matter.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (West) Mohammad Hossain Kabir said that two SIs were injured in a stabbing while trying to catch the robbers. There were six robbers at the scene. Some of the stolen money and local weapons have been recovered.
