Namaz-e-janaza of former minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice Chairman, freedom fighter Abdullah Al Noman will be held in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital.

The namaz-e-janaza will be held after Asr today, Tuesday. BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan informed this information.

Meanwhile, BNP has postponed its rally in Chittagong due to the death of the party’s vice chairman. As per the previous announcement, the rally was organized today by Chittagong North District BNP. Abdullah Al Noman was supposed to be the main speaker there.

BNP leader, freedom fighter Abdullah Al Noman died at a hospital in the capital at around 6 am on Tuesday.

In the morning, his personal assistant Nurul Azim Hiru told the media that Abdullah Al Noman fell ill at his Dhanmondi residence in the capital in the morning. Later, when he was rushed to Square Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead. His “funeral” and further activities will be decided by the party.

Meanwhile, Information and Broadcasting Advisor Md. Nahid Islam has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice Chairman and former minister Abdullah Al Noman.

In a condolence message, he prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.

Nahid Islam said, “Abdullah Al Noman was a selfless politician. He was known as a leader with personality in the political arena. His death is an irreparable loss for the country.”

Abdullah Al Noman was elected as the first member of parliament from the Kotwali area of ​​Chittagong in 1991. After winning the 1991 election, he served as the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock and the Minister of Food after winning the 2001 election.

Noman joined the Students’ Union while agitating against the Hamidur Rahman Education Commission in the early 1960s. He served as the General Secretary of the Chittagong Metropolitan City, President of Greater Chittagong and Central Organizing Secretary of the pro-Menon Chhatra Union.

After his student life, he joined labor politics with Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani. He was the Vice President of the East Bengal Labor Federation. He was also secretly involved in the politics of the pro-Bhasani NAP. In 1970, he was made the Central Organizing Secretary of NAP. In 1971, he joined the Liberation War. After the war, he was again active in NAP politics. After Ziaur Rahman formed the BNP, he joined the party in 1981.
