To mark the silver jubilee of the daily Jugantor, a joyous procession and discussion program was held in Kumarkhali, Kushtia, like the rest of the country. On Saturday (February 22), at around 11:30 am, a colorful rally started in front of the Kumarkhali Press Club and ended in front of the Press Club after circumambulating the main city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the Press Club room and a cake was cut to celebrate the silver jubilee.

The discussion meeting was chaired by Lipu Khandaker, the Kumarkhali Upazila Correspondent of Daily Jugantor and President of Kumarkhali Press Club, and moderated by General Secretary Sohag Mahmud Khan. Bakul Chowdhury, the founding president of the Press Club, was the chief guest.

Among others, Municipal BNP convener Monowar Hossain, Upazila Jamaat Nayeb-e-Amir Afzal Hossain, Publisher and Editor of Daily Lalon Bhumi Newspaper Adv. Zakaria Ansar Milon, Upazila branch convener of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Abdur Rahman, prominent playwright and poet Liton Abbas, Chairman of Youth Development Forum Ashiqul Islam Chapal, Former General Secretary of Upazila Jubodal Khan Atiqur Rahman Sabuj, Press Club Organizing Secretary and Bijoy TV Representative Tanvir Liton and many others were present.

Speakers at the event said that Daily Jugantor played a leading role in the mass uprising of 24 in the student movement. Daily Jugantor speaks about the oppressed and oppressed people.
