The immortal 21st February and International Mother Language Day were celebrated with due dignity at the initiative of the district administration.

At 12:01 am on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Banani Biswas and Police Superintendent Mirza Sayem Mahmud, District BNP Convener Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, Member Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Hilali, former District BNP President and former MP Bir Muktijoddha Ashraf Uddin Khan, National Executive Committee Member Advocate Arifa Jasmine Nahin, former District BNP President Advocate Nuruzzaman Nuru, District BNP Senior Joint Convener Advocate Mahfuzul Haque, Joint Convener SM Moniruzzaman Dudu and leaders of associate organizations were present.

Besides, District Press Club Member Secretary M. Kibria Chowdhury Helim, former Vice President freedom fighter Haider Jahan Chowdhury, officials of various departments of the district, freedom fighters and other organizations, District BNP and its associate organizations and Jatiya Party, various government and non-government educational institutions, District Press Club and socio-cultural organizations laid wreaths.
