We must do production politics alongside development politics – Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury

Aslam Uddin Ahmed, Ulipur (Kurigram)
There will be no development if there is no production. We must do the politics of production along with the politics of development. Tarique Rahman has awakened the people of this region through Teesta. No government can do anything without the people. Due to Teesta water, the country is losing 1.5 million tons of rice every year. Teesta must be revived through any process. Production must be increased. BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury made these remarks on the banks of the Teesta River in Thetrai Union in Ulipur, Kurigram on Tuesday (February 18) afternoon. He also said that no people in the country were with the fascist Hasina government in the past year. Therefore, they have not been able to solve any problems of the Rohingya, Teesta, and Chittagong Hill Tracts, nor are they likely to be able to. Therefore, the cooperation and morale of people from all walks of life in the country are very important. They provide the government with the strength to negotiate to solve all problems. This Save Teesta movement reminds me of the words of the national leader. Save the country, save the people. Now I am saying, save Teesta, save the river. Because the river is the lifeblood of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh of today has developed without the river, civilization has never developed. “Jago Bahe Teesta Bachai” This slogan will be the slogan of the movement to save the rivers of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh of the future will be a different Bangladesh. Chaired by Upazila Coordinator Haider Ali Miah and moderated by Obaidur Rahman Bulbul, the event was attended by district BNP convener Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, joint conveners Shafiqul Islam Bebu, Hasibur Rahman Hasib, member secretary Sohel Hosnain Kaikobad, among others. Later in the afternoon, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman spoke virtually. Meanwhile, hundreds of people spent the night at the rally site on Monday. The organizing committee arranged for their food. All the people of this area, regardless of party affiliation, are holding a 48-hour continuous program on February 17 and 18 at 11 places in five districts of Rangpur division. It is reported that cultural programs, speeches, and poetry recitations will continue until late Tuesday night.
