Sarjis Alam, the central coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement and the chief organizer of the National Citizens Committee, has warned of another mass revolution in the country if anyone tries to abuse power ahead of the upcoming elections. He also said that the new political party of anti-fascist students will be open to people of all classes and professions. He made the remarks at a campaign event titled “A New Bangladesh in Your Eyes” organized by Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj on Sunday afternoon. Sarjis said those who led the mass uprising will be at the forefront of the leadership of the new Bangladesh. A new student political party will be announced in the country this February. The chief organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee said that various political parties, police and judges are still patronizing murderers in the hope of benefits. Everyone must unite against them. The students stated that they are not power-oriented and that the people are more valuable to them than power. Speaking as the chief guest, he said that the murderer Sheikh Hasina fled, leaving behind her party leaders and activists, and that political party leaders and activists should learn a lesson from this. The National Citizens Committee and the Sonargaon Upazila Students Against Discrimination organized this campaign with the aim of abolishing the fascist system and implementing a new political settlement. The campaign was addressed by central and local leaders, as well as relatives of those killed and injured in the mass uprising.
