55 arrested in Operation Devil Hunt raid in Narayanganj

Police have arrested 55 people in other cases, including 15 in Operation Devil Hunt in Narayanganj. This information was received from district police sources on Wednesday (February 12) afternoon. Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Abdul Qayyum said that the accused have been sent to court in various cases by the concerned police station. Anti-discrimination student Andone is facing assault charges, including murder. In addition, suspects in various other attacks have been arrested. The arrested are Jubo League leader Md. Shahadat Hossain (32), Jubo League activist Sumon (39), Awami League member Md. Russell (31), former Bangabandhu Parishad organizing secretary A. Salam (66), Bandar Union Ward 2 Awami League president Md. Shahin Sarkar (55), Bandar Union Ward 7 Awami League vice-president Md. Alamgir Hossain Masud (31), Awami League member Md. Jasim Uddin (40), Bhulta Union Ward 6 Awami League organizing secretary Md. Roni Hossain (22), Awami League activist Based Mia (42), Rupganj Union Swechchhasebak League former president Md. Abdul Alim Sarkar (58), Araihazar Municipality Awami League members Motaleb Mia (40) and Jahangir Alam Rana (36). In addition, three more people were arrested in Operation Devil Hunt in Rupganj Upazila. They have been shown arrested in various cases. The arrested are: Daudpur Union Awami League worker Asif Dewan (21), Rupganj Union Ward No. 3 Awami League worker Zakir Hossain (43), Rupganj Union Ward No. 9 Awami Sechchhasebak League leader Md. Saikat Mia (24). Their arrests in various cases related to the student movement against discrimination are shown. Confirming the matter, Narayanganj District Police Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (C Circle) Mehedi Islam said, “Police have arrested 3 people from Rupganj Police Station area in the Operation Devil Hunt operation in Rupganj, Narayanganj.” Among those arrested are cases of assault and murder during the student movement against discrimination. Confirming the matter, Narayanganj District Additional Superintendent of Police (DB) Tarek Al Mehedi said that the police have arrested 12 people from different police stations in the district during Operation Devil Hunt in Narayanganj.
