A rape case has been filed at Akkelpur Police Station on charges of gang rape of a housewife in Akkelpur, Joypurhat. The victim’s husband filed a case with Akkelpur police station on Friday night and arrested three rapists in this connection. The arrested are Ruble Hossain (33) and Faruk Hossain (40) of Mohammadpukur village in Akkelpur and Ekramul Haque (42) of Ramshala village. Ansir Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Akkelpur police station confirmed  it. According to the case and police sources, on February 5, while returning home from Joypurhat Vocational Training Center, the accuseds took the housewife to Mohammadpukur village. At night, they took her to a deep tubewell near the village raped her and fled. At that time, the housewife lost consciousness, but later she was rescued by her husband and admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Model College Hospital in Bogura. On Friday night, the husband of the victim filed a case with Akkalpur police station, accusing the accuseds of rape and assault. After that case, Akkelpur thana police arrested the three accused on Saturday. Anisur Rahman, OC of Akkalepur police station said that they have already arrested them on charges of rape. They will be sent to jail through the court. The matter will be investigated seriously, and further legal action will be taken.
