Press conference to protest the dissolution of the Naikhongchhari Upazila Krishak Dal committee
Md. Abu Taleb Sikder
The Naikhongchhari Upazila Krishak Dal in Bandarban held a press conference to protest the dissolution of its committee. Upazila Krishak Dal President Choyadul Amin read out a written statement at a press conference at Naiksyangchhari Press Club on Sunday, January 26 at 11 am. In a written statement, he said that on January 25, 2012, the full committee of the Naikhongchari Upazila Krishak Dal, consisting of 71 members, was approved. Since receiving the approval, we have continued our activities and, along with the completion of the full committees of 5 unions, 45 ward committees have also been formed. He also said that on December 25, 2019, I learned through social media that a new partial committee of the Krishak Dal of Bandarban district was announced. We do not know the person who has been given the responsibility of being the president of the partial committee. He is not a permanent resident of Bandarban district, he is an outsider. We have never seen Monir Hossain Bhuiyan as the general secretary in the past days and in the movement struggle. We believe that this committee was approved through financial transactions. Moreover, the partial committee of the Bandarban District Krishak Dal declared the dissolution of the Upazila Krishak Dal committee without any communication with us and without respecting the organizational rules. He also said at the press conference that we are strongly condemning and protesting such a decision through the press conference. He also said that if any pocket committee is given to us, excluding the current committee, we will be forced to take to the streets. They also demanded that higher authorities find a proper solution to this issue. Present at the press conference were Upazila Krishak Dal General Secretary Aminul Hakim, Upazila Organizing Secretary Md. Karim, Baishari Union President Gias Uddin, Organizing Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, Dochhari Union President Nurul Absar, General Secretary Ruhul Amin and other leaders and activists.
