On Friday (January 24), a certificate-giving ceremony and a pleasant cultural program were held at the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Auditorium under the initiative of Bangladesh Legal and Human Rights Services Foundation. Justice Sikder Maqbul Haque was present as the chief guest and recited the oath. The oath he recited was as follows: “I swear that I will always devote myself to human service by being loyal and respectful to the sacred Constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed by the United Nations. O Allah, give us strength so that we can build a Bangladesh free from hunger, poverty, illiteracy and corruption. Amen. I will always be vocal in protecting human rights. I will not compromise with human rights violators in the slightest. I will always devote myself to building a prosperous Bangladesh. I will not be involved in or support any anti-national or anti-social activities.” Chairman of Bangladesh Legal and Human Rights Services Foundation Advocate Ibrahim Khalil Majumder presided over the function. Barrister Md. Mahafuzur Rahman (Milon), Deputy Attorney General of Bangladesh and Acting Secretary of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association was present as the opening speaker. Md. Rabiul Islam Robi, Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Legal and Human Rights Services Foundation, Md. Obaidul Islam, Assistant Attorney General for Bangladesh and other members were present as special guests.
