Hasibur Rahman Sadin, Galachipa (Patuakhali)
Farzana’s dream since childhood was to become a doctor. Growing up in a low-income farming family, this dream was very difficult.
Despite the hardships of the family, Farzana’s parents tried their best to fulfill her daughter’s dreams. With the support of her family and hard work, Farzana got the opportunity to get admitted to medical school.
She has reached the threshold of success. However, instead of being happy, her parents are worried about their daughter’s admission to medical school.
It is known that Farzana Akhter Tamanna is the younger daughter of Md. Alauddin and Mrs. Selina Begum of Bora Gabua village of Golkhali union of Galachipa upazila of Patuakhali district.
Father is a farmer and mother is a housewife. Farzana Akhter Tamanna participated in the admission test for the 2024-25 academic year.
She got admission in Patuakhali Government Medical College with a merit list of 4728. After the results of the MBBS first-year admission test were released last Sunday (January 19), Farzana’s family and relatives were overjoyed with the news of her passing.
Farzana Akhter Tamanna grew up in a farming family in a remote area. She passed the PSC in 2015 from Haridevpur Government Primary School with a GPA of 5.
She passed her JSC in 2018 and her SSC in 2021 from Galachipa Girls Secondary School with a GPA of 5. Later, she was admitted to Barisal Government Women’s College. There, she passed her HSC in 2023 with a GPA of 4.92.
After passing HSC in 2023, she took part in the medical admission test. But despite passing the exam, Tamanna did not get the opportunity to get admitted to any medical college. This time, she got the opportunity to get admitted to medical school.
It has been found that consistent talent and hard work in her educational career have brought her to the brink of this outstanding success. Poor farmer father Md. Alauddin has borrowed money and sold his land to educate his daughter. The family is happy with the success of her daughter. However, the parents are worried about the cost of admission and education.
Farzana’s father Md. Alauddin said, ‘My daughter has made us happy today. We are proud and hope that one day she will become one of the best doctors in the country and serve the people. My hard work has paid off today.’
Farzana expressed her gratitude to her parents, teachers and God for her success. She said, “I was devastated when I didn’t get a chance to take the entrance exam last time.”
My family and I have had to listen to all kinds of bad stories from people. My parents have always worked hard to get me an education.
He also said, “I had to sell my land to continue my studies.”
I wonder if there are people who don’t get a chance in medical school. I need to overcome this difficult thing.
“There are no medical students in any village around my village. My cousin sister took the admission test twice and didn’t get a chance,” I thought to myself, “Is there anyone who doesn’t get a chance in medical school? I need to overcome this difficult thing.” That persistence and dream are the reasons for today’s success.
I want to become a good doctor and return to my village one day. I will ensure that the people of my village get treatment. The poor people here struggle a lot to get proper treatment.
“To make my dream easier and to study near my village, I have prioritized Patuakhali Medical College. I hope that one day I will be able to fulfill my goal and stand by the people of the village.”
