BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon said that today’s Bangladesh is the result of the sacrifice of Shaheed Asad, the great hero of the 69 people’s uprising.
It is difficult to find a hero like Assad who bravely continued to move forward despite knowing that he would surely die that day; such an incident is rare in history.
His inspiration provided the strength for all subsequent movements, the final result of which was the fall of the dictatorship of 24. He said these things while talking to journalists after laying wreaths at the grave of martyr Asad, the great hero of the 69 mass uprising, in Shibpur, Narsingdi on Monday morning.
At this time, Shaheed Asad’s fellow soldier and BNP leader Abul Haris Rikabder, brave freedom fighter Tofazzal Hossain, district BNP member secretary Manjur Elahi and various teachers and students participated in paying tribute. Besides, various educational institutions including Government Shaheed Asad College, Shaheed Asad Girls School and College, socio-cultural organizations have celebrated various programs of Asad Day in various places of Shibpur including Shaheed Asad’s native village Dhanua.
