Onion farmers of Kumarkhali hoping for good harvest

Onion farmers in Kumarkhali Upazila, Kushtia are counting the days hoping for a good onion harvest for the Robi 2024-25 financial year.
According to the information of the Kumarkhali Upazila Agriculture Office, onions were planted on a total of 4,730 hectares of land in Kumarkhali Upazila in the 2024-25 financial year.
Kumarkhali Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Md. Raisul Islam said that 1 kg of onion seeds, 10 kg of fertilizer and 10 kg of manure have already been distributed among 350 farmers for planting onions under the agricultural incentive.
In addition, he said that there is adequate supply of fertilizer in the market, if the weather is favorable, this time 85,158 metric tons of onions will be produced in Kumarkhali Upazila.
When I went to the spot and asked an onion farmer, he said that the weather is favorable at present, if the weather is good in the future, I think we will get a good onion harvest.
