Legal action has been taken against the Hotel Ramada authorities and the unregistered online portal “Chattogram protidin” for publishing a false and fabricated news about former MP of Cox’s Bazar Sadar-3 constituency and BNP’s Central Fisheries Secretary  Lutfur Rahman Kajal.

In view of this allegation, M Saifullah Noor, a lawyer at the Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court,

A legal notice has been sent. On the other hand, a protest march has been organized in Cox’s Bazar to protest against such propaganda and conspiracy against BNP central leader Kajal.

Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, January 19, the angry crowd took out a procession and protested in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Municipality,

Speakers at the protest rally said that the popularity of BNP leader and former  MP ​​Kajal, who is the only person with a clean image in Cox’s Bazar politics, should not be reduced by conspiring against her.

MP Kajal has mentioned in her legal notice that a report published in “Chittagong Pratidin” on December 24, 2024, presented baseless and defamatory information about Mr. Kajal. It has been alleged that his reputation has been damaged in this. In addition, questions have been raised about the role of the Hotel Ramada authorities and the related online portal for publishing such information without verifying the veracity of the report.

The legal notice further stated that such false news could damage the reputation of Mr. Kajol and his family as well as create social and political unrest. He demanded a public apology for this and called for prevention of repetition of such activities in future.

The notice states that if the Hotel Ramada authorities and “Chittagong Daily” do not publicly apologize, legal action will be taken against them.

Former MP and BNP Central Fishermen Affairs Secretary Lutfar Rahman Kajal said:-

Mr. Lutfur Rahman Kajal has urged the public to be aware of any rumors or baseless information and to verify the facts before expressing their opinions.

It is reported that a compromise agreement was reached between the two parties to resolve the dispute over Ramada at the request of the two groups.
