Speaking as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting organized by the Ghumdhum Police Investigation Center in Naikhongchari Upazila of Bandarban, Bangladesh Police’s Chittagong Range DIG Md. Ahsan Habib Palash said, “I cannot say much due to our limitations. We are continuing our activities against drugs, and effective steps will be taken as soon as possible.”

In the past, the police have created sadness in your minds, but not everyone. If all of you extend your hand of cooperation from among us, it is almost possible to eradicate crime. Above all, he said that there will be all-out cooperation from the law enforcement agencies and the BGB for the local people. He also said that the cooperation of every patriotic citizen is important to prevent Rohingya infiltration at the border and stop drug smuggling. He said that the residents of the border areas must be vigilant, alert, and aware.

Everyone should cooperate with the administration by providing accurate information about border smuggling and smugglers to maintain the normal situation at the border.

As citizens, everyone has a responsibility to protect this country. Since Ghumdhum Union of Naikhongchari Upazila of Bandarban is adjacent to the Myanmar border, the residents here are anxious about the ongoing conflict within Myanmar. There is no room for panic. You can move around without fear by exercising caution.

The Ghumdhum, who emerged from the speeches of local people of various professions, also called for cooperation with law enforcement agencies by providing accurate information regarding drug smuggling and smuggling of domestic goods at the border. He also said that it would be considered whether the manpower of the law enforcement agencies could be increased.

The meeting, held at the Ghumdhum Police Investigation Center auditorium on Tuesday (January 7) at 11 am, was presided over by Bandarban Police Superintendent Md. Shahidullah Kaiser. In his speech, Mohammad Shahidullah Kawsar PPM (Bar) said, “We must be vigilant with our minds rather than our words. No country has been able to completely eradicate drugs, but it has been able to control them to a great extent.”

The special guests were 34 BGB Commander Lt. Col. Faruk Hossain Khan and Cox’s Bazar Police Superintendent Md. Rahmat Ullah.

The discussion meeting was moderated by Naiksyangchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mashrurul Haque Chowdhury.

The exchange of views among local people of various professions was addressed by Abdul Alim Bahadur, General Secretary of Naikhongchari Upazila BNP, Member Secretary of Naikhongchari Press Club.
Jahangir Alam Kajal, Ghumdhum Union BNP leader Haider Ali Company, Ghumdhum Union BNP senior joint convener Maulana Nurul Hasan Azad, Jamaat leader Maulana Selim Ullah, Naikhongchari Upazila Chhatra Dal joint convener and Ghumdhum UP chairman candidate Shah Newaz Chowdhury, Naikhongchari Upazila Jamaat Islami joint general secretary Hamidul Haque and professional leader Shahadat Ullah were among the participants.

Present at the event were Naikhongchari Upazila BNP President Arif Ullah Chutru, BNP leader Nurul Alam Sikder, Yunus, Abdul Karim members, Khairul Islam, Jahedul Alam Sikder, Golam Quader Sikder, Joynal Abedin, Youth League leader Yunus, Jahedul Alam, Mizanul Bashar Mizan, Mujib, Siraj, Shah Jalal, Khairul Amin, Jamaat leader Maulana Enamul Haque, Islamic Movement leader Maulana Nurul Islam, and others. The chief guest and special guests from the police department were welcomed with flowers by Ghumdhum Police Investigation Center In-charge Police Inspector Zafar Iqbal, SI SM Kibria, SI Abul Kashem and other accompanying forces.
