The Bandarban District Environment Department and the Naikshangchari Upazila Administration have conducted a joint operation against the KRE brick kiln for the second time for operating in violation of government instructions against an illegal brick kiln in Ghumdhum Union of Naikshangchari, Bandarban.
The company has been illegally manufacturing bricks at the KRE brick kiln for a long time. This joint operation was conducted in the Ajukhaiya area of ​​Ghumdhum Union on Sunday, January 5, under the direction of the Bandarban District Commissioner. Assistant Director of the Bandarban District Environment Department Rezaul Karim, Assistant Land Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of Naikshongchhari Upazila Ishrat Jahan Itu, Range Officer Mozammel Haque Sarkar, Sub-Inspector of Ghumdhum Police Investigation Center Naeem Uddin and various government officials including the Fire Service were present at the time.
During the operation, approximately 3 lakh bricks and 1 lakh raw bricks were seized from the KRE brick kiln, along with 5,000 cubic feet of fuel wood. After the operation at the brick kiln, a mobile court was conducted at two illegal sawmills in the Ajukhaiya area and a fine of Tk 15,000 was collected.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director of the Bandarban District Environment Department, Rezaul Karim, said that this campaign against illegal brick kilns and illegal sawmills that are destroying the environment will continue.
