The police have arrested two robbers and a warranted accused in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar.

They were arrested in various areas of the upazila after conducting raids till 8 am on Saturday (January 4).

The arrested accused are – Emranul Haque Shamim (25), son of Ridwanul Haque of Malumghat Ringbong Chhagirshah Kata area of ​​Ward No. 1 of Dulahazara UP of the upazila. Sajjad Hossain (25), son of Kamal Hossain of the same area and Alamgir (36), son of Nur Ahmed of West Batakhali of Ward No. 3 of the municipality.

According to the police, SI Rajib Kumar Saha, along with his team, was able to arrest Emranul Haque Shamim and Sajjad Hossain along with weapons and ammunition. Another SI also arrested a warrant-bearing youth named Alamgir.

Chakaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Manjur Quader Bhuiyan confirmed the arrest. He said that based on a secret tip-off, two robbers were arrested along with 1 LG weapon and 2 rounds of ammunition. Later, the warrant-bearing accused was arrested from the municipality area. However, a police case No. 12/12-25 was registered against the two arrested armed men under Section 19A of the Arms Act 1878. At the same time, another warrant-bearing accused was arrested and the arrested were sent to jail by handing them over to the court.
