Awami League has destroyed all the institutions of the country in the last 15 years. This public reception was organized by the people of Morelganj to honor Dhaka University Professor Dr. Obaidul Islam, a distinguished son of Morelganj, who was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Open University and played a prominent role in the anti-discrimination student movement.

Guest of honor Dr. Obaidul Islam said, ‘The people of the country have regained their freedom of speech in the July Uprising. The corrupt Hasina and her cronies have fled, leaving the country on the edge of the ditch by looting, killing people, abducting, oppressing and torturing people. Now, everyone must work together under the leadership of BNP to bring back the country’s progress, prosperity, reputation, voting rights and democracy. He stressed the importance of spreading the light of education among the young generation and developing skilled manpower. He called for working together to implement Tarique Rahman’s 31-point program. He also directed the local administration to fulfill its responsibility to maintain law and order and assured them of its commitment to the development of Morelganj.
