There have been allegations that the Facebook IDs of three people, including the convener of the anti-discrimination student movement, Hasnat Abdullah, have been destroyed.
In addition, the Facebook ID of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Advisor Asif Mahmud could not be found after a search after 1:30 am.
The organization’s coordinator, Mahin Sarkar, confirmed this information to a news outlet around 1:45 am on Wednesday. He said that the Facebook IDs of the remaining coordinators have been disabled for security reasons.
Mahin Sarkar said, ‘The Facebook IDs of the anti-discrimination student movement convener Hasnat Abdullah, Chittagong coordinator Khan Talat Rafi, and Dhaka University Shibir president Sadiq Qayem have been reported and destroyed. We have disabled our IDs for security reasons.
However, Mahin Sarkar could not say anything about who or what reported them.
Stating that the Facebook IDs of Information and Communication Technology Advisor Nahid Islam and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Advisor Asif Mahmud are active, Mahin Sarkar said, “We, along with National Citizens Committee Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam, have disabled our IDs for security reasons.”
However, Asif Mahmud’s ID was not found until 1:30 am on Wednesday, but his page was found active.
Earlier, the Facebook IDs and pages of the top coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement could not be found since Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, Advisor Nahid’s advisor Faiz Tayyeb Ahmed said in a status on his Facebook ID around 9 pm on Wednesday, “Give links to the IDs that have been taken down.”
