National Social Service Day was celebrated in Bandarban with due dignity keeping in mind this motto of those who have no side,there is social service.A colorful walkathon rally took place from the Deputy Commissioner’s office on last Thursday.

Earlier,Deputy Commissioner Shah Mujahid Uddin started the day by flying balloons and pigeons.Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Umme Kulsum,Additional Superintendent of Police Hossain Md.Raihan Kazemi and others participated in the walkathon.

Later,an open discussion was held on the role of Ministry of Social Welfare and the expectations of the new generation in the formation of the welfare state in the hall of the Minority Cultural Institute.

Bandarban hill district council Chairman Professor Thanjama Lusai was present as the chief guest.These day-long programs were presided over by hill district council member and convenor of social service affairs convening committee May May Nue.

Speakers in the discussion meeting said that if we want to build the Bangladesh of the post-revolution dream,we must move forward on the basis of unity with everyone.
The social services department should be more responsible and proactive in highlighting the role of the state in the welfare of the underprivileged people of the society.

Department of Social Services does the humanitarian work for the people of the society.The speakers said that the way the Department of Social Services is working alongside the helpless people is really worthy of praise.The speakers also called to spread their messages in the society through walkathons.

District Social Service Office Deputy Director Milton Muhuri,Sadar Upazila Social Service Officer Satyajit Majumder and others were present also on the occasion. bandarban hill district Council,District Administration and District Social Service Office jointly organize these events.
