Fire Service Conducts Fire Safety Awareness Drill at Election Commission Building

Fire Service and Civil Defense Department conducted fire safety training and drills at the Bangladesh Election Commission Building in Agargaon, the capital. At that time, Chief Election Commissioner Mr. AMM Nasir Uddin, Election Commissioners, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, NDC, AFWC, PSC and various ranks of the Election Commission and Fire Service were present.
Today, Thursday at 11:30 am, a power point presentation on fire prevention, firefighting and first aid was presented in the presence of all the officials including the Chief Election Commissioner in the conference room of the Election Commission Building. The presentation was presented by Mr. Md. Anwarul Haque, Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense Dhaka.
Then, a firefighting exercise was performed in front of the Election Commission building. In the exercise, an artificial fire situation was created in the Election Commission building. Rescue of trapped people with the help of a specialized vehicle turntable ladder of the Fire Service, firefighting and first aid were demonstrated. In addition, firefighting and LPG gas cylinder fire extinguishing methods using fire extinguishers were also demonstrated.
At the end of the exercise, Senior Secretary Mr. Akhtar Ahmed delivered a speech on behalf of the Chief Election Commissioner. He said, “This exercise not only creates awareness, but will also help increase our confidence.” He hoped that the training and experience gained in the exercise would increase the awareness of family members.
