Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain said that the outside world is expressing concern about communal harmony in Bangladesh. None of the attacks on minorities in Bangladesh were due to religious extremism but political reasons. After the revolution, some angry people committed these incidents. After August 5 there have been 93 cases of torture on minorities. Already 72 people have been arrested and legal action is being taken against those involved, they will be brought under exemplary punishment. People of all religions in Bangladesh have the right to practice their own religion, those who want to violate this right It is the government’s responsibility to bring them under the law.

He made these remarks at a meeting with mosque-based children’s and mass education teachers, khatibs and imams, muezzins, at the Patuakhali Islamic Foundation auditorium on Monday (December 30) afternoon. The religious advisor also said that propaganda is being spread about Bangladesh in various countries, while minorities are being persecuted in their own countries.
