A new executive committee of Cox’s Bazar Private Public Library Parishad has been formed. The committee was formed at a book distribution and library conference organized by Cox’s Bazar Private Public Library Parishad on Saturday (December 28) afternoon. Khaled Shahid was elected president, Mohiuddin Quader Adul general secretary and Arafatul Islam organizing secretary.
The book distribution and library conference held at Ramu Public Library was presided over by poet Manik Bairagi, founder and chief advisor of Cox’s Bazar Non-Gonopathagar Parishad, the initiator of the book distribution program. At this event, 400 books worth lakhs of taka were gifted to 11 libraries in Cox’s Bazar district. These books were distributed for the fifth time in collaboration with Prakriti, Kharimati and Jagatik Prakashani and on the initiative of poet Manik Bairagi.
Master Mohammad Alam, Ramu Upazila President of Bangladesh Environment Movement ‘BAPA’ and Citizen for Good Governance ‘Sujon’, Master Mohammad Alam, retired teacher of Ramu Government College and General Secretary of Ramu Public Library, Mohammad Mujibul Haque, Professor of Naikshongchhari Haji MA Kalam Government College, Nilotpol Barua, former president of Ramu Press Club and Joint General Secretary of Ramu Public Library, Khaled Shahid, spoke as guests at the book distribution ceremony under the theme ‘Read books, break the brain’.
