Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman inspected the ongoing winter exercise of the army at Daktarkata village of Kachchhpia Union in Ramur.

On Sunday (December 29), the army chief reached the Nasir-Nurjahan Girls’ High School grounds in Kachchhpia by a special helicopter at around 12:30 pm. After this, the army distributed winter blankets to hundreds of local residents of Kachchhpia and Naikshongchhari. The blanket distribution was formally inaugurated by Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman.

After distributing the blankets, the army chief inspected various places of the winter exercise and returned to Dhaka by the same helicopter in the afternoon. Senior military officers of the Army Headquarters and Ramu Cantonment, junior commissioned officers, soldiers of other ranks, civilian officials and employees were present during the visit. Nurul Haque, an 80-year-old man who received the winter blanket, said that he feels blessed to receive the winter blanket from the Army Chief. Meanwhile, the head of the local village committee, Muzaffar Ahmed, said that hundreds of villagers have gathered since morning to watch the arrival of the Army Chief by helicopter. He and the people of the area are very happy to get a glimpse of him, even from a distance.
