Five people were killed in a collision between four vehicles at Dhaleshwari toll plaza on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. At least 10 were injured in the incident.
Eyewitness and Srinagar Fire Service station officer Dewan Azad confirmed the information of the deceased and said that around 11 am, a motorcycle, microbus and private car standing on the expressway to pay toll were hit from behind by a Bepari Paribahan bus on the Dhaka-Kuakata route.
At that time, the cars in front were twisted. One person was trapped inside the private car and died on the spot. The rest died on the way to Dhaka, said a fire service official.

The names and addresses of the deceased in the incident were not initially known. The number of deaths may increase, the fire service said.
Hasara Highway Police Station OC Abdul Quader Jilani said that work is underway to remove the accident-hit vehicles from the highway.
