1 Hectare of Forestland Recovered in Tangail, Brick Kiln Fined BDT 5 Lakh in Savar

A joint operation in Tangail’s Hatubhanga Beat under Mirzapur Upazila has recovered 1 hectare of encroached forestland. The operation, conducted on December 26 under the leadership of the district administration with support from the Army, Forest Department, and Police, reclaimed land valued at approximately BDT 1.23 crore.
During the operation, 7 illegal structures and 2 unauthorized sawmills were dismantled. Authorities have stated that similar operations will continue to protect forestland and biodiversity.
Meanwhile, the Department of Environment conducted an operation today in Charigram, Ashulia, Savar, shutting down two illegal lead factories and confiscating their equipment. On the same day, a separate operation at Messrs. Ripon Bricks in Sadullapur, Savar, imposed a fine of BDT 5 lakh.
Additionally, in Mohammadpur, a mobile court addressing air pollution filed cases against two entities for storing construction materials in the open, collecting fines totaling BDT 15,000. Such operations will continue to prevent environmental pollution.
