The upazila administration and the Bandarban Environment Department have conducted a drive under the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment Control Act, 2013 for operating a brick kiln in Ajukhaiya, Ghumdhum Union, Naikhongchhari Upazila, Bandarban, in violation of government instructions.

On Monday (December 23), the mobile court magistrate, Naikhongchhari Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Mazharul Islam Chowdhury, conducted the drive along with officials from the Department of Environment.
At that time, the brick kiln was crushed to pieces. He said that the campaign against brick kilns that cut mountains, extract sand, and destroy the environment will continue.
At that time, Bandarban Environment Department Assistant Director Rezaul Karim, Director Nur Uddin, Naikhongchhari Upazila Range Officer Md. Mozammel Haque Sarkar, Ghumdhum Police Investigation Center (acting in-charge) Mohammad Kibria, along with members of the Fire Service, Ansar Bahini and Ghumdhum Investigation Center police were present.
NaikhongchhariUpazila Executive Officer Muhammad Mazharul Islam Chowdhury said that a raid was conducted on the brick kiln during the preparation of the illegal brick kiln (KRE) as per the High Court’s directive. He confirmed to reporters that the brick kiln was demolished at that time.
